Glowing From Within: Salt Rocks in Interior Spaces

When most people think of lighting, they typically think of lighting fixtures they can easily see, such as a lamp or chandelier. But what about other ways to illuminate your space? Sometimes the lighting that often makes the greatest impact is the lighting that isn’t necessarily seen at the fixture-level, but rather, the illumination that comes from hidden fixtures or alternative methods of lighting.

Glowing stones and salt rocks can be used to infuse the light and the beauty of nature in your space in a sophisticated way. Salt rocks, in particular, can be placed in decorative bowls or trays as centerpieces for tables or shelves. Their natural, crystal-like appearance adds an organic element to any room, and they can be paired with candles, plants, or water features for a more cohesive look.

To enhance this bubble fountain in an intriguing way, Grant incorporated salt rocks in the base of the fountain. Backlit by LED lighting, light penetrates through the spaces around the rocks, adding an ethereal glow to this exciting focal point.

For best practices, we recommend using salt rocks within a water feature if the containment area has been powder coated. This process will prevent rust from occurring.

Because of their versatility, they can be added in a number of places; your imagination is your only limit! This former bioethanol fireplace was retrofitted for decorative use only by adding LED lighting and salt rocks on top. Because this particular bioethanol fireplace is made from 316 stainless steel, it has a higher resistance when it comes to corrosion.

Natural elements are easy to incorporate in your space. You just need a little bit of creativity, and if you’re stumped, no worries! Contact us today to see how we can help.
